It is not something easy or comfortable to share so please be patient with me

But as long as I’m still here I’m going to fight it. Fight for my sobriety. Fight for my kids. Hell, it’s a fight for my life. Just know that if you’re like me and suffering in silence, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. If there’s one thing that is a blessing of addiction its the gift of unity that binds us all together. A family like no other that guides, mentors, gives, and supports one another so freely. Strangers all fighting the same fight. So keep fighting and I’ll be right here fighting too.

Radhe and Feni came to find the sole purpose of ABILITAS.ID’s existence

Thanks to all of ABILITAS.ID’s team, the project has seen so many developments and breakthroughs in just one year. We now have 85 students, seven school partners, four programs, 104 volunteers, and seven sponsors. These achievements would have never happened if Radhe and Feni decided to abandon their visions and never created ABILITAS.ID purpose.

Modern death in rich societies is sometimes a kind of disease in that medicine instead of prolonging life prolongs death

She explains in plain language the feelings of dying patients: “dying is different for everyone. There´s no textbook”; “pain seems to dissipate in the very last few hours, and, for most people, those hours are peaceful”; “in the last two weeks of her life, my mother was ready and eager to die”; “I´ve also tried to convey some sense of the beauty and joy that often surround dying -the sense of meaning it can give to the dying person and people around her.”

We’ve heard so many therapists and supporters saying we should see the positive and beautiful sides of our bodies and ourselves

Keywords: body image , anorexia , body acceptance , eating disorder , psychology , self compassion

But that was just impossible for us, when our life and our minds were fully captured by the power of anorexia. We couldn’t see it, let alone think about it. However, small steps towards this idea were more feasible. We both thought a lot about it and discussed how we felt about our body and self image with each other.

I finally had words to describe what I have been experiencing all my life as a blind person living in the sighted world, and more broadly, as a disabled person living in the world primarily designed for nondisabled people

I was learning about disability history that I had never been taught before. I was learning about the laws that enabled me to have a seat in a world class university lecture hall as a blind student. Most important, I felt like I was given the permission to celebrate and embrace my disability. I felt empowered.
